Honey

In addition to our specialisation in Gemstone carving, I also tend to a number of bee hives on my property which adjoins the Blue Mountains National park.

Directly from these bee hives I produce a delicious honey that is sold via the Wollemi Gems shop.

The honey has a rich, unique taste. I have a number of customers who travel from Sydney (approximately 2 hours) to the Blue Mountains to buy it. The honey is harvested using traditional methods and is not heated in the process. Recent analysis of the honey has revealed that it does contain some Manuka Factor.

I began bee keeping fifteen years ago, and learned the hard way, losing all my bees to disease twice. But I never gave up. I am happy to help by contributing to the pollination of the forest as well as collecting honey for sale in the shop, using traditional methods.

We currently do not sell the honey here on the website, but do pop into the Wollemi Gems shop at 51 Katoomba Street, Katoomba, where it is available for purchase.
